Grain Analysis

How often do we hear that harvests have become more challenging – the reality is the market has become more competive and we have to produce higher quality feeds, seeds and grains.

With our state of the art laboratory you instantly know the quality of your product. If you are not completely happy with the results we can improve the quality using screening sieves and our drying facility.  We can make your feeds, seeds or grain meet your markets specification. Our grain analysis service is open to everyone, whether you are a farmer, haulier, or merchant we can test the quality and integrity of your feeds, seeds and grains.

Our laboratrory is equipped with the latest technological equipment provided by the new Perten 9500 infrared grain analyser. This allows us to measure moisture in cereals and oilseed rape, as well as record the grain density, protein, nitrogen, oil and hardness.

Each Load is sampled on our cerfified weighbridge using an automated grain sampler spear. This speeds up intakes loads. The sample is analysed and tested for DON and Zon mycotoxins as well as germination and hagberg and of course moisture. We can show admixture results and rentention on a 2.0, 2.25, 2.5mm sieve. All samples are also put through our insectomat which sifts out dust, dirt and bugs.

Every sample tested in our Lab is kept for up to 12 months so you have complete traceability.

Another wet year perhaps or keen to get on earlier and get the harvest in, well we can help.

We are able to dry crops in either one of our two high capacity driers. We have a 50 tonne an hour Perry dryer for fast intake of 30 tonne lorries. We can also take in grain transported by tractor and trailer as this can be received and treated by our new small load 15 tonne an hour intake facility. After which it may be returned to your own store or sent on using our Haulage facility to its ultimate destination.

With our on site laboratory we are instantly able to assess the moisture and quality of your feeds, seeds or grain. If you are not completely happy with the results we can improve it for you. We can instanstly determine what needs to be done to make your crop the best it can be, before it is stored or sold. For example we can bring down the moisture, or use our Lawdenis rotary cleaner to clean it, in our state of the art grain plant which is able to operate at a 100 tons an hour. This allows us to dry condition and clean feeds, seeds and grain to an extremely high standard.

If our laboratory sample shows that you have too much admix in your sample we can use screening sieves to ensure your feeds, seeds or grains meet your markets specification.

The Lawdenis drum cleaner is able to remove small grains from feeds, seeds and grains to improve the quality of the commodity. This is especially pertinant for any grains being sold for milling purposes, and thus gaining the optimium price for the product.

We can screen out unwanted seeds using a number of different size sieves.

All feeds, seeds and grain for drying is aspireated through an Lewdenis cleaner, this removes chaff and dust from the commodity to improve the drying efficiency.

If our laboratory sample shows that you have too much chaff or small grains in your sample for example the rotary drum cleaner will be able to remove this.
