Storage

Worried about current prices of feeds, grains and seeds, have you considered storing your crop until the prices improve? Or perhaps your own stores are full and need additional storage! If you have no where to store your crop then we have the solution. We have 20,000 tonnes capacity of storage. Our facility allows you to store your crop excesses to maximise the best price that may be achieved if the crop is to be sold at a later date.

You can be assured that any crop stored at L E Barnes & Sons storage facility is treated with integrity and care.

Before we store your grain it will first come across our public certified weighbridge and be weighed. It will be sampled using our Perten grain sampler. As soon as the load is on the weighbridge the sample is taken automatically and safely speeding up the sampling process. It is then analysed and the results are recorded against a weighbridge certificate. All samples are put through our insectomat, a mechanical sieve which sifts out dust and dirt and bugs, so we can instantly assess the quality of the load. We can at this point also test for DON and ZON mycotoxins as well as germination and Hagberg. We can also show admixture. If at this point you would like us to dry or clean your commodity we can do this, otherwise if it meets specifications it can be tipped into store. We are Red Tractor audited each year.
